Chip’d bowl
Finally the first post on the new site
. I feel like I am back in the grove.
I promised to catch you up on my projects, the first of which is the chip carved bowl.
I have been learning and practicing my chip carving with intention of bringing the skill into my turning as a surface treatment.
I was tripping over this peice of cottonwood so I decided to use it to experiment.
With a sharp knife the cottonwood carved successfully (not as nice as basswood).
It turned out better than I expected and this peice of firewood is now on the hearth in the family room.
Boy I have way to many “round things”
