This section of the Shop features the lathes and tooling that I use.

Stubby 750 I bought the stubby in 06 from Stubby USA. I like the flexibility the movable beds and banjos provide. Some possible variations in tool setup are shown in the other pictures.

Remote Stubby Panel

I remote-d the panel from the motor drive using a cable purchased from Eaton. The panel is mounted on a PVC post which is mounted to a bolt at the base of the headstock, so as not to add holes to the stubby.

Tailstock storage

I use a slot in a board on my waste can to store the tail-stock near the stubby.

Stubby Tooling

An example of some of the tooling mounted on the lathe. Laser depth finder, elbow tool, vacuum chute and light. Note the elbow tool mounting on the tail-stock.

Tool setup

An ariel view of the stubby setup. Note the shop-made steady rest

Jet Metal Spinning

My jet set up for metal spinning

Jet Pen Lathe

My Jet pen lathe lifted to elbow height with a tool shelf and vacuum plenum in back.
