This is a T-rest made from 1″ square tubing. I used tubing because I did not have the ability to drill 1/2 holes in solid stock. Notice the fulcrum pin made from 3/4 inch galvanized pipe with a welded insert.
A bottom view of the rest with the 1″ post cut from 1-8 Lowes bolt. It is jam nutt-ed onto the T-rest so I can exchange the post for different sizes to fit all my lathes.
T-rest installed on Jet lathe. I plan to offer plans for sale, so check the HowTo section often.” If your interested now email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
These are my first set of tools. A blunt tool and a trim tool.
A Harbor Freight sheer that I use to cut the metal blanks roughly to circles
An experimental cutter that mounts directly to the lathe. The lathe is turned by hand! Not sure I like this yet! I got this idea from a tool Home Depot sells for cutting holes in ducts.
Another circle cutter tool that I have been experimenting with. Seems like the lathe would be a good place to cut round things?
