Drying wood in Utah

I will be eternally interested in the science ….. no …… make that,  ART of drying wood. I have tried most of the formulas like SOAP-ALCHOHOL-PLASTIC BAGS-SHAVINGS. The simplified results are:
SOAP: inconclusive, most seemed to work, but takes a big vat. Nice lubrication qualities.
ALCHOHOL: some success, liquid needs filtering after each soaking or staining can occur. Dangerous [...]

The Virtual Lathe

Big bowls

I completed a large ash bowl for my sister in Fla. It featured a natural finish on the outside with a dyed Burgundy interior. The internal dying process I got off the web worked well.
I delivered the bowl to my sister and she was delighted.

Spun Coffee Cup
